Chester Bennington – Linkin Park

Woke up to terrible news this morning..I may not be related to Chester Bennignton but news like this does leave you sad and makes you ponder over the realities of life.

We listen to music, we watch celebrities perform, we pass judgements and leave comments never knowing how they must affect we don’t see their struggles but only care about the music they bring us… we have no idea about what goes on in their lives and their minds..we don’t care about how much of an effort must go into that one song they want at the top of the billboard so that they can feed their families, pay their children’s college fee or foot the hospital bills for someone they love… we are a selfish lot..we don’t care about others.. we particularly ignore people who need love and support, who are fighting their own battles within..they are suffering from an illness invisible to the human eye… we ignore what we can’t see at times…we do more damage then we take responsibility for…

This year has seen too many tragedies..this year has been a year of heartbreak so far…
Chester Bennington has been a huge part of my teen years like many of you out there..I always had Linkin Park on my playlist with a few being favorites like

There are many others as well of course. Linkin Park will always be a great band. Chester will always be remembered. Its a known fact that he struggled with drugs and alcohol for years which is terrible, and its worse that he was abused as a child. How as a society we ignore the fact that people need help and tremendous support to overcome any kind of abuse. Mental and emotional abuse is as bad as physical abuse. Its about time these issues are properly addressed. My heart goes out to his 2 wives Samantha Olit ,Talinda Ann Bentley   and children. Sigh!

May his soul rest in peace.

My relationship with Amir Zaki

Amir Zaki, a man who needs no introduction at all. A man who knew music to the core and had tremendous respect for it. He was a guitarist-songwriter and composer from Pakistan. He was known for his melodic phrasing, feel, and tone. He was better known as the ultimate guitar maestro. Now here comes the question..what was my relationship with Amir Zaki? Amir Zaki was part of my childhood as much as barbies were. I had siblings who were crazy about him , I had a sister who bought a guitar so she could learn to play like the legend that we all know as Amir Zaki. I had a brother who would turn up the volume of the tv as soon as his music videos were aired. We all used to sit glued to the TV waiting for MCC Music Channel Charts every weekend. His music was a huge part of my childhood. He is one singer who didn’t aim to commercialize his music rather kept it as classy as one could imagine.

Mera Pyar was his greatest hit. Here is another one of his classics. Now do your ears a favour and get hold of your earphones for this one. This has no lyrics but it’s awesome.

Definitely worth it, wasn’t it?

“People are people” is another classic by this legend.

He was a member of the extremely popular band Vital Signs before he came out with his debut solo album called “Signature” and gave the world a song that we still love “Mera Pyar”.

His grey haired sexiness, decent, sober & classy personality will always be remembered. He left the world this afternoon at the age of 49. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Many youngsters tried to play guitar like him back in the days, he is the reason many believed that they could sing and be part of the music industry.

Here is some of his best work.

Kiss From A Rose

I still remember the first time I listened to this song on the radio, I fell madly, deeply in love with it. I was sitting with my mom in her room when the RJ played this amazing song. Each night we used to turn on the radio and listen to insane music being played around 11pm on FM 100. (Back in Pakistan) That was a new radio station and the RJ’s were super good at what they did. The late night show used to be something! Great unforgettable music. My mom was into music as much as we kids were. It was always such a pleasure sitting next to her, listening to music, talking about different singers, our favorites and the whole shebang. It surely brings back memories of the days when my sister, friends and I used to turn the lights off in the room and listen to it at a super high volume. Lights from the equalizer on my music system used to seem so magical. What days!!!

This song was released in 1994, it was re-released as the soundtrack for Batman Forever in 1995. At the 1996 Grammy Awards, it won awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance ( Seal).

Lyrics are beautiful. Those of you who’ve never heard of this one (which I would find surprising), I would suggest you get your best headphones out, listen to the song while keeping the lyrics in front of you so you don’t miss a thing.

Seal “Kiss From A Rose”  (youtube link given below)

There used to be a graying tower alone on the sea.
You became the light on the dark side of me.
Love remained a drug that’s the high and not the pill.
But did you know,
That when it snows,
My eyes become large and
The light that you shine can be seen.
I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray.
The more I get of you,
The stranger it feels, yeah.
And now that your rose is in bloom.
A light hits the gloom on the gray.
There is so much a man can tell you,
So much he can say.
You remain,
My power, my pleasure, my pain, baby
To me you’re like a growing addiction that I can’t deny.
Won’t you tell me is that healthy, baby?
But did you know,
That when it snows,
My eyes become large and the light that you shine can be seen.
I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray.
Ooh, the more I get of you
The stranger it feels, yeah
Now that your rose is in bloom.
A light hits the gloom on the gray,
I’ve been kissed by a rose on the gray,
I’ve been kissed by a rose
I’ve been kissed by a rose on the gray,
…And if I should fall along the way
I’ve been kissed by a rose
…been kissed by a rose on the gray.
There is so much a man can tell you,
So much he can say.
You remain
My power, my pleasure, my pain.
To me you’re like a growing addiction that I can’t deny, yeah
Won’t you tell me is that healthy, baby.
But did you know,
That when it snows,
My eyes become large and the light that you shine can be seen.
I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray.
Ooh, the more I get of you
The stranger it feels, yeah
Now that your rose is in bloom,
A light hits the gloom on the gray.
Yes I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray
Ooh, the more I get of you
The stranger it feels, yeah
And now that your rose is in bloom
A light hits the gloom on the gray
Now that your rose is in bloom,
A light hits the gloom on the gray.

Chris Martin- The heart throb from the much loved band Coldplay, celebrated his 40th Birthday this month on the 2nd of March . His gorgeous ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow sent out a beautiful birthday wish for him on Instagram in a gorgeous, happy family photo.

His great music, the videos and his warm smile never fail to brighten up a bad day. Watching Coldplay perform live is pretty much on everyone’s bucket list and for good reasons of course. A Coldplay concert is not something to be missed out on.
His songs are unforgettable. From Yellow to Paradise, Fix you to A Sky full of stars, Scientist to Hymn for the weekend, Clocks to A Head full of dreams… we love each and everyone of them!

He says he loves his fans no matter what they do or they say. He is down to earth and humble despite his fame, success and many awards.

We will always love Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin even though they are not together anymore but hey it’s all part of life.

His music still continues to bring magic to our lives.

|Faces| “James Morrison”

James Morrison, the incredibly brilliant, gifted guy from Warwickshire England, born on August 13, 1984, has a voice that is almost impossible to get out of mind once you have listened to his extraordinary music.

He rose to fame and success with his single “You give me something” in 2007, leaving the world in awe of his voice, great videos and charming looks. The song is featured on his debut album, “Undiscovered”, which was released on 31 July 2006. The song has been nominated for a BRIT award in the category Best British Single Shortlist in 2007. Not to mention he looks like Chris Martin’s long lost brother, the resemblance is uncanny, especially when his hair is shorter.

In the world of today, when most music videos are based on nudity, his music videos are refreshingly simple yet classy. Singers like him are a reminder that there is still great music out there. He attributes his distinctive voice to a severe bout of whooping cough that nearly killed him when he was a baby. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that his music is irresistibly addictive. He has four marvellous albums to his name to date

  • Undiscovered (2006)
  • Songs for you, Truths for me (2008)
  • The Awakening (2011)
  • Higher than here (2015)

I absolutely love his music, a few being absolute favorites

His official website is
The website is stunning, suits his personality perfectly! Do check it out!

A few years ago when he was at the peak of his career, when he was the toast of the music industry, a string of sold-out arena shows under his belt and his third platinum-selling album topping the charts. James Morrison disappeared. His soulful voice fell silent, the appearances dried up and baffled fans were kept waiting and waiting for his next release.Morrison had become a virtual recluse from the music scene, holed up in the mansion that his six million album sales had bought him. He suffered three tragedies in three years losing his father, brother and nephew. Grief sometimes hits us in ways that we can’t explain, but once we emerge from the darkness, we come out much stronger, more able and mostly a better version of ourselves. He used to be a trained carpet fitter before he came out with his music and won hearts of million around the world.

Dating one woman for more than 10 years makes me think highly of this man indeed. Gill Catchpole and James Morrison had a beautiful daughter named Elsie.

Daddy-Daughter Duo… Dave Crosby & Claire Ryann

I’m sure by now you have probably seen the disney-inspired daddy-daughter duo videos going viral on Facebook and Youtube. This duo is not very easy to forget, they will stay on your mind long after you’ve seen and heard them. The videos have such a tender simplicity, the ability for the Dad to create a moment with his daughter and to share it with the world is nothing short of beautiful. The way he only has eyes for his princess, the way he softens his voice to allow her to dominate in all its sweetness…It’s magical!

The little angel has such an incredible control over her voice that it gave us chills. It gave us goosebumps and got us really teary eyed. Hats off to the handsome Dad who saw her potential and shared it with the world by giving it just the right lift that she needed at such a tender age. Her innocence has been preserved in all her videos..we don’t see her trying to be a glamazon like many other videos we have come across. Well done parents of Claire Ryann!

Dave Crosby is an incredible singer, he has his own Youtube channel : Crosby
You have to listen to his songs, he is an amazing singer.Music isn’t his full-time job but he has done a few big corporate music projects and he is coming up with some great songs this March. He has also done some applaud able covers. Subscribe to his channel for more.

Here is one his masterpieces

Coming to Claire Ryann. This little girl with such a strikingly beautiful and innocent face that is unforgettable, and a talent like that just adds a cherry on top.

Claire and Dad have done some amazing videos together.
Dave says “Claire learned to talk at a super young age and we noticed really early on that she could carry a pitch. I remember some time after her first birthday, she was slamming her hands on our little keyboard in the living room. She started hitting the same note over and over, and then she began to sing the exact same note. I was sure at that moment that she was going to be able to sing.

This led to an obsession with Disney songs. It started with Frozen, but we also introduced her to some of the classics: she absolutely fell in love with The Little Mermaid when we showed it to her. We bought “Part of Your World”  for her and she would request it whenever we drove around in the car. Pretty soon, she was singing the entire song word for word everywhere.

One day, I was getting an oil change and while I was paying, [Claire] suddenly burst out into the Little Mermaid song, walking around the waiting area and being so dramatic. It made everyone in the waiting room laugh and people were pulling out their cell phones and recording it. That gave me the idea to put a video on YouTube. A few months later, during Christmas break, we finally made our first video to the song from Little Mermaid.”

You can find all their videos on their Youtube channel called Claire and the Crosbys.
We put together some of our favorites for you. Here you go:

Fall so far!

“Autumn paints in colors that summer has never seen” – Anonymous

L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Albert Camus

Lauren DeStefano, Wither

“Listen! The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves,
We have had our summer evenings, now for October eves!”
Humbert Wolfe

“There is something incredibly nostalgic and significant about the annual cascade of autumn leaves.”
Joe L. Wheeler

“Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.”
Jim Bishop

Hoodies, bonfire, cuddling, cosy sweaters, vibrant colors, warm drinks, long chilly walks, movie nights, leaves changing colors, crisp air, rainy days, blankets, crunchy leaves, Is there anything more beautiful than fall? Fruits, fashion, make up, events, everything speaks of autumn. Autumn is definitely our favorite time of the year, its not just gorgeous, the weather is great and also it brings with it birthdays and of course Halloween.

Let’s take a look at what all we’ve seen in fall so far.

While we look at all other wonders of fall, we can’t ignore the importance of skincare.

As the days grow shorter, the temperatures drop, and the air becomes drier, your skin may lose precious moisture. Autumn is a time of transition, and the best autumn skin care routines will correct any summer damage that has occurred and prepare your skin for winter. Sun, chlorine, and saltwater may have taken a toll on your skin throughout the summer, so fall is a time to exfoliate and moisturize.

  • switch to a soap-free hydrating cleanser. It’s time to put away the gels and bring out the creamy body wash.
  • Exfoliate with an oil-based scrub.
  • Switch from lotion to cream. As the air becomes drier, your skin needs a thicker moisturizer. Creams provide a stronger oily barrier, which means they both reduce water loss from the outer layer of skin and provide hydration to this layer of skin at the same time.
  • Protect your lips. Start moisturizing now to prevent dry, cracked lips this winter. Use a non-petroleum based lip balm for best results.
  • Hands and feet often become dry and cracked during fall and winter. Start moisturizing your hands and feet now to ensure soft, supple hands all winter long.
  • it is that time of the year when the showers become hotter than usual giving you a dry scalp resulting in dandruff and flakes. Oil and a good conditioner could make a huge difference. Let’s not forget the wonders of yogurt which is the ultimate natural remedy for dandruff.

I’m sharing a beautiful song, which is an all time classic from sting..seems perfect for those long walks and cosy nights.

Movie lovers, relive the old days and watch “Autumn in New York” starring Richard Gere and Winona Ryder. Perfect to make you fall in love with Autumn even more.

Enjoy the weather, make memories, fall in love!
