Winter Skincare

Winter is the time to get wrapped up in gorgeous sweaters, mufflers, jackets, socks, uggs, boots and what not. Warm colors and beautiful textures, it all adds up to give us the wardrobe we all look forward to during autumn. But winter also brings with it skin problems that need attention. Many people suffer from skin dryness which leads to more serious problems. Of course this season also means dry, flaky scalp that itches and leaves our dark colored wardrobe full of white unwanted dandruff. So we are bringing you ways to improve your skincare during this season to give you gorgeous skin that you can happily flaunt.

  • Oiling your scalp is definitely your best bet during winters and of course also otherwise. Coconut Oil is one of the best oils to help with dryness of the scalp and other areas too. It is light on the pocket and has no side effects
  • Say NO to hot showers as much as you love them. Hot showers is the biggest reason our skin becomes dry.
  • Befriend a good scrub that suits your skin type and doesn’t leave it dry. Once in a while scrubbing is actually good for your skin.
  • Lanolin and fragrance free Lipbalm should be with you at all times to avoid chapped lips.
  • Moisturizers are your saviors during winters. Choose the one that suits your skin type and don’t hesitate to use it as much as you want to.
  •  Nothing works better than petroleum jelly on hands and feet. I for one carry Vaseline in my bag during winters.
  • Don’t forget a good sunblock even in winters as the sunrays are harmful even if welcome the warmth with open arms.
  • Stay hydrated even if you don’t feel thirsty in winters. Lots of water means healthy glowing skin.
  • Lastly, Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing! Remember these 3 key words no matter what the season.

Enjoy the sun! Enjoy hot drinks! Enjoy BBQ’s! and of course always look great!

Enjoy the season! 🙂

Wednesday for me!

Hi my angels!
Hope you are doing great and living life to its fullest!
Wednesday turned out to be all about makeup. I went out for some shopping and of course no shopping is complete for women till they get their hands on some makeup on their way home 🙂 so yes!!! Got my hands on some lipsticks, lip liners and some eye shades, bobby pins (the more the better), conditioner and a toner. So yes when I got home, I laid out my stuff of course, and decided to give my makeup tools a good cleaning. That led me to sort and organize my makeup, I’m a complete pain when it comes to organizing and sorting stuff as I’m very particular about small details. I believe that the more organized you are, the more stress free you feel when getting ready. Cleaning turned out to be great and also made me realize how many mascaras I have. I love mascara’s! They help create dramatic eyes even on days when you don’t want too much on your face, mascara does the trick. I’m blessed to have naturally long eyelashes so of course a good mascara is very important!

I’m very happy with my makeup station right now. I would love to know what is that one makeup product you absolutely swear by. It’s always good to hear from you.

Beat the Heat with our Summer skin care tips

Summer is here and it is impossible to beat the heat and sun rays that constantly damage our skin and hair. Let’s begin by finding ways to minimize the damage and make the most of this weather.

Your best bet is to make friends with H2O. That’s right! It is extremely important to stay hydrated. Water just about covers all, takes care of your internal and external problems. Keep in mind that if you drink a lot of caffeinated beverages, triple your water intake.

  • Your lips need attention like your skin. Use a richly textured lip balm with an SPF 15 and reapply when outdoors.

  • Keep your skin hydrated with masques,  you will find many things that work wonders for your skin right in your own kitchen, cucumber for instance works for your eyes and rest of the face both, i would personally skip a cucumber masque and apply the cool cucumber directly for better results.

  • Cleansing. Toning. Moisturizing! Toners are a refreshing moisturizer prep, working to even out skin porosity.Yes, your skin needs a moisturizer in summers considering the amount of heat it will be taking in every day. Choose something that feels incredibly light on your skin.

  • It’s not enough to just apply sunscreen.: you must apply enough, and apply frequently. A teaspoon for the face. For the body, about as much as would fill a shot glass.Stay out of the midday sun from mid-morning to late afternoon whenever you can and of course choose an oil free product.
  • A tan may be a popular summer look, but it indicates damage. Bombard your skin with age-fighting ingredients to help undo any damage that may occur, and to further protect it from the aging effects of UV.

  • Take a cold shower, as hot showers further damage your skin and scalp.

  • Embrace the goodness of summer fruits. Melon is a fruit of choice for beautiful summer skin for treating skin from within. The sweet delicious fruit is rich in antioxidants and delivers a unique hydration to the skin, resulting in a radiant complexion. It is believed that it can actually boost your SPF by several factors.

  • Don’t forget your hands. The thin skin on your hands wrinkles and pigments easily, so be sure to use sunblock daily. I neglected my hands last year and got a terrible tan with all the driving and sun exposure.

  • The best tool for an even summer skin tone is probably already in your fridge. Cut a large strawberry in half, take a fork and poke at the flesh to awaken the juices, then swipe it across your face in small circles.Leave it on for about two minutes, then rinse off. This will brighten sun and age spots over time.

  • Invest in a pair of good sunglasses and a large hat if you like to wear one otherwise a small umbrella should do the trick.

  • Want to freshen your feet after a day in hot shoes? Soak them for 30 minutes in warm water that’s been infused with a pot of strong black tea.
