Weekend Chit Chat

Hi my lovelies! Yet another weekend, yet another Friday. I said bye to my hubby last night who traveled  back to Pakistan. The days become awfully long here in UAE with kids and chores and its nice to have him here so we can do stuff together with the kids. Taking them out becomes much easier and more fun when they have their Dad with them. Anyway since he was leaving, there was something that I wanted to do for him. His birthday falls on the 29th of July and knowing he wouldn’t be here with us I tried to throw him a little surprise also to make the kids know and feel that they were part of his b-day this year. So baked a layered chocolate cake, put up fairy lights (i’m obsessed with these things) got the candles ready, bought his b’day present in under 15 minutes (boy! I got lucky!) and packed everything without him knowing and you’ll never guess where. Haha! Packed his presents in the washroom, imagine that!

Thank God he loved everything. Also that reminds me that there are some great deals at Springfield so you might wanna check those out. I loved their shirts, hats and caps. Super nice!

This time of the year in UAE means you will be spending a good amount of time at the malls, or maybe at the beaches during the evenings. Plan your evenings. Make some sandwiches at home, get a nice bottle of fresh lemonade and get your flip flops. Make the most of it.

The malls have some great deals with Dubai Summer Surprises in full swing. Best time to grab what you’ve been wanting to get for so long.

This week also brought the news of Chester Bennington leaving the world on a very sad note. May his soul rest in peace. As much as i’d hoped this year to be better than the last..this year has been a year of heartbreak so far. I’m not really in high spirits this weekend so bear with me.

So will be posting some DIY skincare this week along with a little about hair extensions.

Stay Tuned!

LOVE
xoxo

Indian Fest @ Al Qasba

Yet another day, yet another list of chores to be taken care of. But of course we must take out time to live the life that we all work so hard for. Speaking of which I made my way to the Indian Fest at Al Qasba last night. The weather is beautiful these days and so was the decor. Warm and inviting! Just the kind of thing you need after a long day.

The trees adorn the traditional yellow, orange and, red drapes. Handcrafted dolls and umbrellas hang from the trees. There are crafts to make, food to eat, performances to enjoy, beautiful bangles at the stalls and of course henna to adorn your hands.

The handicrafts stall will surely win you over and you won’t leave till you buy a piece for your house.

The music platform will keep you entertained throughout the evening. Bright and vibrant colors of Rangoli design competition is something to watch while you are there.

Rajasthan puppetry is a unique experience in itself and of course who can deny the exquisite flavors of the Indian cuisine.

Yesterday was the first day, but don’t worry you have till the 19th of November to enjoy the Indian Fest. Make your way down to Qasba everyone!
Al Qasba has opened some new cafe’s adding to the whole experience which I’m dying to try. Plus I was extremely happy to see the eye of the Emirates being installed again.

Qasba looked incomplete without it. The whole Al Qasba experience just got better with the addition of the dancing fountains right below the Eye of the Emirates which I was pleasantly surprised to see. After the Mall of Dubai this is where you will find the dancing fountains!

So I hope that I have given you enough reasons to make your way to Al Qasba tonight. Have a great time!
